Haus of Hecate: Soft Goth
Despite the moody name, Soft Goth wears more like a sweet memory than a shadowy spell. It’s a creamy vanilla-forward gourmand with just enough sandalwood and patchouli to keep it grounded. Powdery and comforting, it has a nostalgic warmth that makes it feel less alt-nightclub and more velvet blanket.
The Scent
The scent itself is fairly linear, with no dramatic twists or transformations, though amber gathers strength as it dries down. It’s rich and concentrated (a little goes a long way), but projection is surprisingly modest, sitting close to the skin rather than announcing itself.
Longevity, however, is impressive; it clings for hours without needing a top-up.
The Notes
Top: Vanilla, Amber, Geranium & Freesia
Heart: Sandalwood & Honey
Base: Patchouli
Who is this for?
For me, this is a scent for cooler weather, when the vanilla can settle rather than suffocate. It leans more evening than daytime; think low lighting, soft fabrics, maybe a little melancholy piano in the background. If your idea of gothic is more Morticia-in-a-cardigan than bat wings and eyeliner, Soft Goth might just be your vibe.
Final thoughts
It’s less goth, more soft, which isn’t a bad thing. A sweet, creamy comfort scent with a flicker of patchouli. If you like your vanillas moody but manageable, this could hit the spot.
