Top 10 Cherry Fragrances

When I first dipped into the world of cherry fragrances, I thought I had it figured out. I expected syrupy sweetness, maybe a touch of something synthetic, and not much else. But cherry had other plans.

It didn’t take long to realise this note is a shapeshifter. It can be tart like stolen fruit, or rich and boozy like an after-hours cocktail. It can lean leathery, smoky, creamy, spiced… even a little edgy. One minute it’s lip gloss, the next it’s opera gloves and oud.

I whittled the cherry scents I sampled for this exploration to just over 40 perfumes and took at least 20 out for proper skin testing. Some fell flat, others were fun, but a few stayed with me. These are the ten I kept reaching for, thinking about, or flat-out fell in love with.

10. New Notes - Latte Di Cherry

Latte Di Cherry is an unexpected gem. It’s smooth, creamy, and gives a milky softness to the cherry that makes it feel comforting rather than sticky or syrupy. There’s a sweet, almost dessert-like quality to it without tipping fully into gourmand territory. Perfect when you want something cosy and a little different.

Average price online: £149 / €160 / $220 (50ml)

9. Tom Ford - Lost Cherry

It’s fashionable to criticise Tom Ford, but honestly, Lost Cherry still deserves its flowers. The opening blast of cherry is lush and realistic. The almond note was a bit jarring at first, but it settled beautifully on my skin. Lost Cherry feels luxurious and decadent, best saved for evenings or cooler weather when you want something bold and a little seductive.

Average price online: £290 / €224 / $345 (50ml)

8. Headspace - Kirsch

Kirsch is like stepping into a secret cocktail bar. It opens with a heady mix of sake and juicy cherry, which immediately makes it stand out. The heart brings in saffron and iris for a soft spiced floral effect, and then the oakmoss creeps in during the dry down for an earthy, grounded finish. It’s complex without being confusing.

Average price online: £175 / €195 / $220 (100ml)

7. Kayali - Lovefest: Burning Cherry

Lovefest is fun in a bottle. This is a warm, slightly smoky cherry that feels youthful but not childish. It's easy to wear, cosy, and always gets compliments. The burn isn't too harsh — just enough to give it a bit of backbone.

Average price online: £73 / €83 / $89 (50ml)

6. BDK - Rouge Smoking

Rouge Smoking is a cosy, powdery cherry that’s perfect for autumn and winter. There’s a slight musky quality here that softens the fruitiness, making it feel more like a sophisticated skin scent as it settles. I found it a real comfort to wear, like a soft scarf on a cold day.

Average price online: £190 / €205 / $250 (100ml)

5. Pierre Guillaume - Mad About You

Mad About You leans more floral than fruity, with a soft elegance. The cherry note is woven through without overwhelming the fragrance. It doesn’t deliver a juicy punch instead it has a beautiful sophistication.

Average price online: £95 / €105 / $125

4. The 7 Virtues - Cherry Ambition

Fresh, bright, and slightly spicy, Cherry Ambition brings something different to the table. The florals lift the cherry and make it almost fizzy in the opening, while the spicy notes warm everything up later on. The dry down has a clean, slightly soapy feel that made it an easy reach for daytime.

Average price online: £85 / €95 / $94 (50ml)

3. Room 1015 - Cherry Punk

Cherry Punk is for the rebels. It’s smoky, a bit leathery, and has real attitude without being too harsh. This is the one I’d grab for a night out when I want to smell a little dangerous. The balance between the dark leather and juicy cherry is spot on.

Average price online: £130 / €150 / $155

2. Fragrance Du Bois - Sirène

If cherry had a haute couture moment, Sirène would be it. This is cherry draped in velvet. Rich, opulent, and exquisitely composed. The sweetness is plush rather than playful, balanced by a silky oud that brings depth without ever tipping into heaviness. Every note feels intentional, every transition seamless. It smells like a candlelit opera in a grand old theatre, all red velvet, gold detailing and soft shadows. It doesn’t just smell expensive (note: it is very expensive), it is a fragrance made with precision and purpose.

Average price online: £255 / €280 / $395

1. Born to Stand Out - Indecent Cherry

This fragrance genuinely changed the way I thought about cherry scents. Indecent Cherry is pure juicy bliss. Bright, slightly sour, playful, and just a little bit bubblegummy in the best possible way. It projects beautifully without ever feeling sickly. Before this, I thought I preferred my cherries dark and boozy, but now I’m proudly a juicy cherry fan.

Average price online: £150 / €190 / $226

Honourable Mentions

There were a few that almost made the cut:

  • Cursed Fragrances - Pretty as Poison (fun and different)

  • Guerlain - Cherry Oud (luxurious and rich)

  • YSL - Black Opium Over Red (Black Opium + Cherry. Nothing more nothing less!)

  • Electimuss - Caspian Cherry (a fresh cherry twist, if a little vimto-y)

  • Montale - Intense Cherry (bold and attention-grabbing)

Final thoughts

Cherry has a bit of a reputation, too sweet, too artificial, too much. But wearing these fragrances shifted my perspective. Cherry can be dark, fresh, grown-up, playful, luxurious… sometimes all at once.

Whether you’re into smoky leathers, syrupy reds, or creamy, skin-soft blends, there’s a cherry scent out there with your name on it. These ten just happened to be the ones that stood out most to me. The search was half the fun.

Got a cherry favourite I missed? Let me know, I’m always up for discovering the next one. 🍒
